Usain Bolt Tests Postive for COVID-19

Usain Bolt is now self-isolating after testing positive for Coronavirus; his message for all 14.7 million of his combined social media followers? “Stay Safe my ppl.”

Monday afternoon, Bolt shared a video, both twitter and instagram, letting others know that he may have tested positive for Coronavirus. He stated that he’d scrolled social media after waking up for the day, but the news of the morning centered around his positive COVID-19 test — even though, he, himself, was still awaiting an official confirmation.

“I’m going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation to see what is the protocol and how should I go about quarantining…just to be safe,” said Bolt.

According to ESPN, Jamaica's health ministry confirmed late Monday that the 100-meter and 200-meter World Record holder had indeed tested positive for COVID-19.

Bolt stated that the test was taken on Saturday, and that he has no symptoms, but was going to alert friends he’d come into contact with; the day before the test was taken, Bolt celebrated his 34th birthday.
