Kim Kardashian Tweets "Free Gunna"

ATLANTA, Ga. (July 20, 2022) — Kim Kardashian has expressed her support for Rapper Gunna, legally named Sergio Kitchens, with a tweet made on Wednesday, July 20th.

The tweet reads: “Free Gunna” and is followed by 2 emojis that read “Free P” — a nod to one of the Atlanta rapper’s popular songs.

Kim Kardashian has made it her mission to use her intelligence and celebrity reach to foster an improved justice system for the past 5 years and counting. Now, she is adding her voice to the lot of supporters calling for the release of Kitchens as he awaits his trial next year.

The “Pushin P” rapper has been denied bond for his Young Stoner Life RICO case on two occasions, and is likely to remain in jail for another 5 months, but his attorneys are not giving up that easily.

They are now petitioning Henry County, the physical location where Gunna is incarcerated, for a writ of habeas corpus which will allow the rapper to challenge his imprisonment.

According to Fader Magazine, the Fulton County Superior Court Judge, Ural Glanville, made the first denial on May 23rd, 2022. The reasoning for the denial is cited to be fear of intimidation of witnesses once released.

The Atlanta rapper was denied bond a second time in early July.

Gunna is one of 28 alleged members of what is believed by state prosecutors to be a criminal street gang, called Young Stoner Life. He is currently detained on a single charge of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act.

According to the Office of Justice Programs, Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act seeks to provide enhanced sanctions and new remedies for dealing with the unlawful activities of those engaged in organized crime.
